In my early twenties I sold Kirby vacuum cleaners door to door. After my first 3 months I won an all expense paid trip to the Caribbean in Santo Domingo. I was one of the top salesman in the Northeast United States.
I owned my own drywall company for about 8 years and did work for homeowners, building contractors and other subcontractors. I was recognized as a top professional and one of my customers hired me to do his work because he thought I was more knowledgeable than the other people who gave him bids.
I have been in home construction most all of my adult life and I am accomplished in several trades. I did siding and roofing for about 10 years and did very well at it.
I’m most efficient in drywall finishing which I did for about 30 years and hung drywall sometimes. I know how to hang drywall the right way. During that time I ran crews and did the hiring. I’ve also done painting work and my work was top notch.
I finished drywall for about 30 years and did painting as well. I’ve done drywall patch work also for two different companies. I am very good at it. I use a heat gun when doing patch work, so in most cases I can do the patch and paint it the same day if it isn’t too large of an area. I would like to find a job running drywall crews. I’ve done that in the past and also did the hiring. I bring ways of doing things faster and cleaner. Decades of experience has helped me to to know how to do drywall finishing very quickly and do it well. When I finish I didn’t have a lot of sanding. Just a light sanding and it is ready for paint.
I would need certain days off for Biblical Holy Days. These don’t come on a calendar date but are determined by the new moon. I would offer notice about a week or 2 weeks in advance when I need to take off. It could be just one or two days and up to two weeks once a year.
My dad was a building contractor and I worked for him after high school. We framed the houses, put the siding on them, installed the trim work, did the painting, sometimes I finished concrete and sometimes we did the landscaping.
After my dad closed his business I went on to work for other contractors doing siding, drywall, remodeling work and eventually going into drywall finishing full time and hung drywall on occasion and did painting as well.
