After being harassed by the plant manager concerning my faith I started my own business and not long after submitted my resignation. Religious harassment never works well and we are actually protected by the federal government on such things. When I was interviewed for the job I made them fully aware of the biblical holidays I keep. However, they got angry later on and the plant manager harassed me making me work 10 hour days even though I’m a senior citizen. The former plant manager had quit along with many others. They brought someone in to run the mill room and he was a decent guy, but he quit in about only two months. One of the men I worked with told me it took 13 months after he started to get a raise. I asked him, what did you get, a dollar? He said, No, fifty cents. The pay at the time was $12.00 per hour. Had it not been for the low pay I think many people would stay. My Bible says not to suppress the workman in his wages but while many of the bosses claim to serve Messiah and one of them is even a pastor, they don’t pay well. I liked a lot of the guys I worked with there and will miss them. Even my supervisor quit and he was one of the best guys I’ve met at a job.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Trying to pay bills on the small amount of pay.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment was actually pretty good when the plant manager was not around.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hard physically for such a small amount of pay.

During the 2023/2024 winter in Tennessee during the deep freeze they didn’t show up to pick up the trash one week which is understandable since roads were very icy and dangerous to drive on. They contacted me and told me I could put my extra to the road the following week and they would pick it up. However, they never picked it up and I requested a deduction on my bill for that week. They never did the deduction so I called them on the phone and talked to them. They still refused to refund my money for the times they did not work. So I fired them and filed a review with the Better Business Bureau.
